 Footpath Problems in Staffordshire

Ploughed and Cropped Paths

This year has seen many Rights of Way obstructed by crops. The problem is widespread throught our county and many complaints have been submitted to the County Council. Even the Staffordshire Way is badly obstructed, in South Staffs District. Unfortunately the Council is taking very little enforcement action. It should be forwarding all complaints to the Rural Payments Agency who penalise farmers for breach of Cross-compliance regulation.

If you encounter paths obstructed by growing crops please report the matter to the County Council. The means to do appear below.

Unfortunately, there are many other problems on some paths in Staffordshire and we would like you to report these as well to the County Council's Footpath Team.

Please report them to:

Development Services Directorate,

Riverway,

STAFFORD

Please look at the three photogarphs below of foot bridge erected by Staffordshire County Council on FP 19 in the Parish of Bradley (Stafford Borough) at a cost of £25000. The Staffordshire Area of the Ramblers' Association thanks the County Council for the new bridge.
